I have never had headaches in my life, but I just realized that I seem to get a headache when I use a tampon for more than an hour. Is the tampon a cause, or am I just stressed more because I'm on my period and THAT's causing it?
Answer:
You might want to talk with your doctor before you continue using them. Headaches, while using tampons, are a sign of Toxic Shock Syndrome, a very serious and some times deadly problem. Be careful.
Toxic Shock!!!!!!!!
Just stressing from your period....
It may be a symptom of toxic shock, but if you are using them properly (changing them ontime and not wearing them overnight, etc) it is more likely the change in your body's hormone levels that causes the headaches during your periods. Lots of women have headaches associated with their cycle, even women who get migrains sometimes notice a relation to their cycle.
Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at
